# Cost to/from

The amount of money that a lower-level red unit provides the unit above it to which it reports.

The lower-level red has a “Cost to” and the higher-level has a “Cost from”.

Related to the [Blue Book](/adizes/wiki/blue-book.md) and Red Book, which are deployed as part of [Phase VI](/adizes/wiki/phase-vi.md) of the Adizes Program for Organizational Transformation. 

Note: Red does not charge, it is shared through the sharing and taxation mechanism. In some cases, a red may behave like a yellow; this is called reimbursement.
